Luyckx wins Made in Belgium award at Matexpo with ZX890 Starfish

Our passion for customisation and progressive solutions has been rewarded: the ZX890 Starfish has won the “Made in Belgium Award” at the Matexpo Awards 2025. This award is synonymous with what we have been committed to for many years: Belgian innovation, robust performance and customisation for the toughest jobs.

The Starfish is not a standard excavator, but a raised excavator (in this case a Hitachi ZX890) with a unique undercarriage that puts the machine “on legs”, as it were. This gives it extra stability, as the excavator arm and counterweight remain close to the ground, making it perfect for use in difficult terrain, such as waterworks, clay soils or areas at risk of subsidence.

In short: a powerhouse that delivers top performance where other machines fall short.
