Demolition and replacement of railway tunnel in Lichtervelde successfully completed

Commissioned by Willemen Infra, Demaecker en Van Haecke demolished the 112-year-old railway tunnel in Lichtervelde. After removing the old tunnel and excavating the bedding, a new tunnel structure was installed. This was then slid under the railway track. Thanks to a tightly coordinated operation involving nine excavators, the entire job was successfully completed within a timeframe of just 30 hours.
