Ammann customer magazine - March 2026

Monday, March 30, 2026

The latest issue of Ammann Customer Magazine highlights a series of technological breakthroughs and real-world case studies that are shaping the future of asphalt and concrete production. The magazine opens with a major milestone in Sweden, where NCC’s asphalt plant is undergoing a comprehensive modernisation. The installation of the RAH100 dryer makes it possible to process up to 100% recycled asphalt (RAP) without bitumen ageing, thanks to a ‘gentle’ hot-air technique that preserves the binder quality. ‘The slow, gradual, and even “gentle” heating provided by hot air preserves the rheological properties of the binder’.

In addition, Ammann is introducing a groundbreaking innovation in asphalt processing: the VDTA-V Double Tamper Screed, which allows operators to continuously adjust the tamper stroke whilst working. This offers enormous advantages on bends, roundabouts and when working with low-temperature asphalt. “For the first time, the tamper stroke can be continuously adjusted during paving”.

The magazine also highlights the rise of electric equipment. The eABG 4820 electric asphalt paver and the eARX 26-2 electric roller proved their worth on a major sustainability project in the UK, where they handled high tonnages with surprisingly long battery life. “The electric roller has completed four nights without needing a charge”.

The issue also features case studies, such as that of an Australian contractor who, thanks to thorough preparation and operator feedback, opted for the Ammann ContiQuick 140 plant, and a report on new concrete plants in Dubai.
